Mississippi County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, verify or arrange a release, post bond, or obtain official booking records. Direct those matters to the government office that created or currently holds the record.

Official Mississippi County routing

The sheriff is the starting point for a Mississippi County booking, a county custody question, or a written Sunshine request. Research did not find a separately published records phone number, a booking-desk number, or sheriff records hours. The published office phone is the correct starting number, but it is not a promise that every call reaches a records clerk. During the reported MCDC closure, ask the Sheriff’s Office which Scott County tracker or jail contact is currently handling custody confirmation.

Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office

200 W. Commercial St.
Charleston, MO 63834

Phone: (573) 683-2111
Fax: (573) 683-2113

No separate records number or sheriff records hours are published on the official page.

Mississippi County Circuit Clerk

Mississippi County Courthouse
PO Box 369
Charleston, MO 63834

Phone: (573) 683-2161

Use the clerk for a court file, docket question, or Case.net follow-up, not for a sheriff booking photo.

Choose the record custodian before making a request. The relevant route depends on where the event occurred and whether the question is about county custody, a city police report, a court case, state custody, or a separate federal or immigration matter.

  • For the county booking, custody, and records-request sequence, use the Home page and then send a written Sunshine request to the Sheriff’s Office with the person’s name, approximate date, arresting agency, and the record sought.
  • For a current custody or release question while MCDC is closed, begin with the sheriff and use the official Scott County jail information path the office confirms.
  • For a warrant question, ask the Sheriff’s Office or circuit clerk to verify the issuing court and status; the Wanted Fugitives page explains the official verification route.
  • For a Charleston, East Prairie, or Bertrand incident report, request the record from the arresting city agency or the agency that created it, rather than assuming the sheriff has the city report.
  • For court proceedings after booking, use Missouri Case.net and the circuit clerk, because the filed charge and final disposition can differ from the first booking entry.
  • For a person in Missouri state custody or supervision, use the Missouri DOC offender search; it is separate from a county-jail check.
  • For a federal inmate or an immigration detainee, use the official BOP inmate locator or ICE detainee locator, which answer different custody questions.
